  PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION - RX Required

Amoxicillin Clavulanate, also known as Generic Clavamox, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic commonly used in veterinary medicine to treat a variety of bacterial infections in dogs and cats. This powerful combination of amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, and clavulanate potassium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, works synergistically to combat bacteria that are resistant to amoxicillin alone.

Indications:

  • Skin infections (pyoderma, abscesses, wounds)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)
  • Soft tissue infections

Key Benefits:

  • Broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacterial infections
  • Combines amoxicillin with clavulanate to enhance effectiveness against resistant bacteria
  • Convenient dosing options to ensure proper treatment

Dosage Information:

  • Dogs and Cats: The typical dosage is 6.25 mg per pound (1 tablet per 10 lbs) of body weight every 12 hours.
  • Duration: Administer for 5-7 days or as prescribed by your veterinarian. Ensure the full course of antibiotics is completed, even if your pet shows signs of improvement, to prevent antibiotic resistance.

How to Administer:

Administer orally with or without food. If gastrointestinal upset occurs, giving the medication with food may help.

Precautions:

  • Not for use in animals with a known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins.
  • Use with caution in pets with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. If these or any other side effects persist or worsen, contact your veterinarian.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep tightly closed.
