Dosage Information:

  • The dosage of Prednisone varies depending on the condition being treated, the severity of symptoms, and the size and weight of the animal. Always follow your veterinarian's specific dosage instructions.
  • Typical dosage for dogs: 0.1 to 0.3 mg per pound (0.2 to 0.6 mg/kg) of body weight, administered orally once or twice daily.
  • Typical dosage for cats: 0.1 to 0.25 mg per pound (0.2 to 0.5 mg/kg) of body weight, administered orally once or twice daily.

Administration:

  2. Follow the prescribed dosage schedule carefully. Do not skip doses or stop medication abruptly without consulting your veterinarian.

Precautions:

  • For veterinary use only. Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity to Prednisone or any other corticosteroids.
  • Use with caution in animals with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, or gastrointestinal ulcers.
  • Long-term use of corticosteroids can lead to side effects such as increased appetite, weight gain, and suppression of the immune system. Regular monitoring by a veterinarian is recommended.
  • Do not administer to pregnant or lactating animals without veterinary advice.
  • Store Prednisone tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
