Proin (Phenylpropanolamine) Chewable Tablets

Proin® is a prescription medication used to manage urinary incontinence in dogs. The active ingredient, phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride, works by tightening the urethral sphincter muscle, thereby reducing urinary leakage and accidents. Proin® chewable tablets are flavored to make administration easy and are available in various strengths to suit different sizes and breeds of dogs.

Dosage Information:

• The dosage of Proin® is typically based on the weight of the dog and the severity of the condition. Always follow your veterinarian's specific dosage instructions.
• Recommended dosage: 0.4-0.8 mg per pound (0.8-1.6 mg/kg) of body weight, administered orally twice daily.
• Proin® chewable tablets are available in different strengths (25 mg, 50 mg, and 75 mg) to facilitate accurate dosing.

Administration:

1. Administer Proin® chewable tablets orally, as prescribed by your veterinarian.
2. The tablets can be given with or without food.
3. Ensure your dog consumes the entire tablet. If a dose is missed, give it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Precautions:

• For veterinary use only. Do not use in dogs with known hypersensitivity to phenylpropanolamine or any other ingredients in the tablet.
• Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing conditions such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, or diabetes mellitus.
• Not for use in pregnant or lactating dogs unless directed by a veterinarian.
• Possible side effects include restlessness, irritability, loss of appetite, increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure. Contact your veterinarian if you observe any unusual symptoms.
• Store Proin® chewable tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
